Up and Down Week

So my bankroll is now floating around 380, but the week has caused it to fluctuate alot.

At first I was in the 100s due to playing in a cash game I should not have been in continuously chasing "money I had lost", which I realize should never be done. And I hope it was a lesson learned.

I then joined the Sunday Million being that I normally work during the weekends so it was rare to find myself able to participate in the event and wanted to play in a big tourny. I did alright placing 744th out of 8001, so I took a little profit home which basically brought me back to where I was a week ago.

After this fiasco of a week, I started looking up some articles on bankroll management, although I do follow pretty strict guidelines sometimes I break them here and there and realize the importance of that "sometimes" can have some serious affects.

So hopefully, I stick to the plan although I have a feeling that there will probably be a next time, I mean we are all human and quite frankly, how many people have the bankroll to play, that play in the main event? So in that since I feel I am still ahead of most players. Let's just keep it in the most controlled sense as possible.

Broke Evenish

Well after a long day of playing, basically broke even with a lot of frustrating loses to 3 and 2 outers but well its all part of the game; as Tom McAvoy puts it:

"Your mission is to put yourself in a position to get very lucky"

and well more often or not in the positions, I would of made it so I'm happy with my overall play.

Played a little out of my bankroll, playing in some 180-man $12 turbos, which to me was fine because I think I didn't lose much there, probably would have made a lil profit if I didn't but the couple of time getting close to the top was very well worth it I believe.

As for the SNG Leader Board for last week, I ended up in 27th after a bunch of people all the sudden placed, but still don't mind taking the extra $30, pretty difficult getting on their in the first place so all is well.

I'm set around $350 at the moment for the bankroll, still grinding grinding, and feeling very good.

SNG Leader Board?

Hey guys!

SNGs have been doing very well for me now that I have adjusted to playing at a little higher level. You can mainly find me nowadays at the 6.50 Turbo 9-man SNGs, and at this moment it time it looks like I will have 450 points for this week in the Venus division (Pokerstars SNG Promotion) placing me at 12th for leader board for a $40 bonus to my bankroll. I think that should be the final standing, I'm not sure if I need to play one more SNG or what but will update when I know.

My bankroll now is floating at $320. (Do those who don't know, I started with $8 on my pokerstars account and grinded up to this point with strict guidelines).

Also, you can kind of keep track of my progress here at:

http://www.pokerprolabs.com/thinkjc/pokerstars.aspx

However that only keeps track of MTTs, SNGs, and Heads-up matches, not any cash games I may randomly play in. *Also currently one of my favorite ranking sites to look at.

Thanks for dropping by!

11.19, updates updates updates

Hey guys,

Been a little bit since I last wrote. So I thought I would give a little update on everything poker related that involves me.

So in terms of my Bankroll, I managed to bump it to currently at $230, playing mainly any sort of $5 buy-ins from MTTs to SNGs and heads-up matches (with the occasional cash game buy-in)

At first SNGs were my main point of profit but I've been having a little trouble transitioning to the $5 buy-in turbo players, and just barely breaking even the last couple of outings.

However, my MTTs play has been doing very will with placing 197th out of 3195 in a $5 Rebuy and 79th out of 3186 in the $5 rebuy the next day(yesterday) taking in approx $65 and $93 respectively. So I have been happy with those, especially since the hands that busted me (or close to it) were hands were I started as the favorite, so nothing wrong with that.

Also from when I first started the blog, my Official Poker Ranking was approx in the 72nd precentile and I managed to bump into the 75.60th pecentile so thats nice too.

I started a Pocket Fives profile, mainly to read articles etc.

Well thats all I can think of for now.

Thanks!

Humor at my Heads Up Matches

So I wanted to show a couple of examples of how anything is possible. FYI, both these hands happened in the same heads-up match within 5 minutes of each other. I still won the match but I was starting to believe that this guy just couldn't lose a race lol XD
